Sonar
Female Bottlenose Dolphin
Arrived at Marineland in 2001.
Located at the King Waldorf Stadium.

Sonar is similar to Marina but it is easier to tell them apart when they are side by side. The lines across Sonar’s rostrum and from her eye to her flipper are very thin and dark. She has the thinnest lines of all the dolphins. She has a couple dots right under the left corner of her mouth. On her right jaw she has three vertical scratches. Her beak and melon are darker than the rest of her head and her skin has a brown hint to it. She has 2 dark line markings on her chest. Sonar’s dorsal fin flops to the left side. Her beak is quite long in relation to the other dolphins and her eyes are very dark.

Sonar acts a lot like Marina, but she is a little more quiet. Sonar does very well in shows, her vertical spins are fantastic. She likes to do bows right before shows (usually three around the perimeter of the pool). She also likes to rest her head on the slide-out and watch people before and after shows.
